Rubber battery pad for battery tray?
 

I am in the process of completing my X-1 CR conversion ( http://www.rc-monster.com/forum/showthread.php?t=9022 ) and I need some rubber or foam pad for the battery tray. I can't quite seem to find what I'm looking for and I was wondering if anyone knew where I could find some. It's kind of like double stick tape except only on one side. If anyone can direct me to a place that sells stuff like this or can give me any suggestions as to what I could use on the battery tray to protect the batteries I would really appreciate it.

You could go to an automotive store and ask for the weather stripping stuff they put on trucks with a camper top/shell. That's sticky on one side and is foam. Or use toolbox liner foam, you'd have to glue it down if you want it permenant though.

Ask rchippie - He got me some stuff that was like an old style mouse mat but was sticky on one side... not sure where it came from but worked great...

I use mouse pads. Theyre cheap and they work good.

Wow good idea. I never would have thought of that one. I usually pick up my foam at the local fabric store like Joann's. They have the foam for inside the tires and the thick stuff with the adhesive back.

I'm definitely going to have to try the mouse pad thing though.

Thanks for all the replies, I've never heard of using mouse pads but it does sound good. I want something that's kind of dense so it doesn't compress too much. I haven't been able to go see what they have at the automotive store since I've been tearing down my Revo 3.3 to clean it because I'm going to be converting that too.

You can get the pre-cut ones made by Associated and Losi. Or you can go to McMaster and buy it in larger sheets.

Or you can get the adhesive backed craft foam (about 1/8" thick) at any craft store or Wal-Mart. It's cheap - about $1 for a 8.5" x 11" sheet - and easy to work with...

I use velcro as padding even if it's velcro ability isn't needed. Not the cheapest but it's what i had.
