REVO diff oil in a JATO diff

This is for all the JATO owners who are having problems with handling dirt (namely spinouts). I read on the traxxas forums in the JATO section where a company called RD Racing have been testing with heavy diff oils in the JATO diff. They found out that the JATO diff responds favorably to using heavy diff oils. they have tried as heavy as 50,000wt oil in the diff and they said it was much more controllable on the track, so i tried the 50,000wt oil myself and found out for myself that it is better, but don't know yet if this could damage the diff or other drivetrain parts yet, but I'll let you know if it happens.

Cool for making donuts..

It will do that either way, but you'll have more control with the heavier oil

mmmmmmmmmmmm.......................donuts......... ........

This is good information to have. I'm very happy that the diff is sealed on the Jato for this very purpose.

Thanks for posting it :)

By the way, you can do faster donuts with the lighter oil

But you can make good donuts with heavier oil. When there is no interaction between the two wheels, it has got less gripp, what is usefull/good for making donuts..
