Neu 1515, 1Y on 5s

Is somebody can tell me if a Neu 1515 1Y (2200Kv) is safe on 5s (18.5v)???

Thank you!

I am sure that the motor can handle it 40k rpm should be fine on a good motor like that, question is can your vehicle handle the insane power:gasp:

David,
If you try it post temps and gearing. I would be interested.

Somes run it in revo, and you know that the revo drive train is alot more fragile that an 1/8 scale buggy, so i'am confident:intello:

I was running this combo about a year ago in an LST2. I've since gone to 4S.

Why??

aqwut 12.22.2007 03:09 PM

:rofl:maybe too much power?...

riceman 12.22.2007 05:55 PM

5S was a little tough on the Mamba Max I am running. 4S and gearing up gave me what I needed for the tracks I run on.

That thing looked fast down the straight! I love watching big rc trucks in nitro, and then watch them BL, they go from slow sluggy things, to peppy trucks lol

I've order the MBX5T pinion and ring gear to put in my MBX5 buggy, so with this lower gear ratio, i'll probably try it on 5s.

In my revo running 16/38 gearing and wide ratio 2nd in revo tranny temps are @ 115 or less depending on ambient temps.

It would have been even faster with a pack that held the voltage better, such as the maxamps 8000 packs, they tend to hold their voltage much better than the relative weak 6000 packs.
