pistix + brake programmable esc = still no brakes =/
 

i have this controller http://www.bphobbies.com/view.asp?id...3&pid=B3455156 a pistix adapter along with a DX3 spektrum and still can't get the brakes to work, can anybody point out what im doing wrong?

That is an air esc correct? If so the brakes will not be proportional so you will want to use mech brakes. Most likely they will be adjustable for hard, medium, or soft, but will most likely be switched off with the stock settings. The brakes will come on as soon as you let the throttle get to neutral with the pixstix adapter.

Just my idea, someone else may have another view! Most air escs have non-proportinal brakes meant to stop props so that they can fold up before landing. You can try the brakes, but I never had any luck with them, just too unpredictable, or too harsh.

yeah, brakes are non proportional alright... but you could use drag brakes... but it's better to use the mechanical brakes... I do agree...

The pistix adapter is intended to allow you use a airplane esc, like the CC HV series, with a pistal grip tx.

The pistix will set the entire throttle spread of your pistal trigger from the neutral position to full throttle thus there is no brake range on you pistal when using this adapter. If you did setup brakes on your esc then you would hit full brake at the nutral position of your pistals trigger.

Mech brakes are required when using the pistick adapter.

This setup was going to go into my e-maxx based 1/5th scale on road project, but i guess im gonna have to get a revo or tmaxx tranny and a custom motor mount then...
