Truck will not go when on the ground...

I'm having issues with my ESC in my rustler, I have the quark 125b while the stock one gets fixed (I did a huge jump that slit the truck in half, and riped out the wires).

While I was using it with the 125B, all of the sudden I lost power. So I thought that I smoked the motor. I bought a new vxl motor, and I get the same problem.

The problem is, in the air, the wheels will spin and the tires will balloon. So it acts as if it is working. As soon as I put it on the ground, I can't go 1 mile an hour. The truck cogs. If I hold it in the air, and hold the tires, I can stop it, it is like there is no power.

I have tested with other battery packs.
I tested with 2 motors, one brand new
Work fine in the air
doesn't go when they on the ground
I only use 2S or 3S in the rustler
I push the car on the ground, and it rolls easy, 5 - 7 ft (Gears should be fine)

Any idea what would cause this?

Sounds like most of the FETs are blown.

Sound like I should sent it back for repair, I'm assuming that is the only way to fix it.

Unfortunately, yes....

Did you check the motor connections?

could loss of connection on one of your motor wires cause this? i had really bad cogging issues at certain speeds on my maxx until one of the bullet connectors fell off the motor. i then realized the problem and it was a quick fix. bad factor solder job.

how do you tell if the solder job is bad?

tashpop 12.23.2007 07:52 AM

a sure way to tell is if the wire itself is getting hot. mine was real easy when it heated up enough to release itself from the little solder that was there and the wire came out of the plug. it was being held together with shrinkwrap.
