Ideas for a good Truck
 

Happy Christmas guys, it's winter, don't usually play outside in the cold but it's a good time to start planning for when I can. :yes:

Currently I have an E-Maxx that's all UE, Lightning chassis fitted, 7xl on 6s. The problem is I'm rather concerned that with UE pretty much packing in on making parts for the E-Maxx, I don't want to break it or damage it - it's just turning into a shelf queen which is no bother to me but I'd like something new and young to take its place.

I'm looking for a strong stock MT that is easy to shove some serious power into. I've got CAD/CAM capabilities so if making a chassis is required, I wouldn't mind owning something a little different. ;)

Since all I have had in the last 2-3years is my E-Maxx, I have no idea where to look, any good trucks you can recommend?

Maybe a new Emaxx. Lots of improvements and should be a good platform for brushless.

Revo. Definately.

Not interested in Revos (or Savages before it's brought up :yes:), looking for something bigger too, like the LST2 or MGT.

Reason I won't buy a new Maxx is I'd like a change, I've had the same thing for nearly 3 years.

I have a Mr Constructor chassis for the MBX5T, definately not something you see everyday.

LST2 conversion. I have one thats more of a custom job with a emaxx style tranny, but there are some guys over on lstforums.com doing sweet conversions with the stock tranny.

look into the gst7.7. i dont really see too many of these conversions, i know id love to try one.

I am planning an Aftershock conversion, basically the same as a LST. Going to use the stock tranny and mech brakes. Will use a KB45 10xl on 9s lipo thru a CC HV85 esc. Looking at the truck it appears to be very solid, should meake a good basher. Plus 9s 5000mah 20c lipo should provide long runtimes too!. 33.3v at 100 amps would be almost 4.5 hp! Not sure if the motor can put out that much, but I am sure it will be a beast!

Personally, I would go for a Muggy if you don't want a Revo. Didn't you also have a EB-4 buggy? I could have sworn you had a buggy of some sort.

If you are truly looking for something a little bit bigger and pretty well made look at the Global Hobbies XTM/MMT. I saw it a few weeks ago and started checking it out for a new play toy. It comes pretty well equipt right out of the box. It is a nitro beast that is just perfect for an E-conversion. Most of the truck is constructed of metal parts, and it looks to be plenty tough. For under $400 RTR I believe that it is a good start up vehicle, and it looks a little bigger than the Emaxx. I think People hobbies carries it.:lol:

I did have the EB4 S3 converted Squee, was good fun but not really my cup of tea.

Currently I'm leaning towards an LST2. Just don't know if to use the stock gearbox or not?

Thats why I suggested the Muggy. Its very similar to the LST2, but has a easier chassis layout to deal with and no tranny issues, since the LST2 has the 2 speed clutchbell setup and the muggy has the center diff. The Muggy seems to be in between a truggy and a MT, so it might suit your needs.

Aha, sorry Squee I thought when you said Muggy you were refering to a chassis type not the Losi Muggy, it looks great though, how does it differ to the LST2? I've found a bargain LST2 roller, so if it's as easy as changing a few parts to make it the Muggy that would be brilliant.
