mamba max in brushed mode?
can a mm esc run 2 titans with no prob.? in a new E-maxx? lmk
phil |
it says no brushed motor limit, so i would assume it would run the titans fine. i know guys were running one race e.s.c. like the novak cylcones to run their emaxxs when people were running the trinity 550 motors. i would think the mamba max would be fine.

so are the titans gonna pull over 80A each???
|
I kinda doubt it; 80A @ 14.4v (MM limited to 12 cells or 4s) is 1152w (1.5HP). If the two titans were able to deliver over 2300w, BL wouldn't be as popular as it is.

ok how would you wire the titans to the mm?
phil |
Simply wire the motors in parallel...

RTM! lol.

RTM = Read The Manual. When using the MM in brushed mode you only use two of the three wires, but I dont know which ones or in what order to wire them up to the motors.
|
That's for "brushed mode with reverse". In brushed hi-power mode, you hook all three wires to one motor terminal and the + battery wire directly to the other motor terminal. You don't get reverse in this mode though, but would be more efficient since three times the number of FETs are used.

I hope this diagram helps, I know it's not the best but it's something I threw together. The Green block is the MM, the battery is on the right, and the two titan motors are on the left. You would have to "collect" all of the motor wires from the ESC and make a "Y" to plug the - side to both of the motors. Also, solder another wire to the + on the Deans connector with a "Y" to connect the + side to the motors. Or two separate wires from the Deans connector to each + terminal on the motors.

You cannot get more then 200W from Titans (total of ~400W at 5S), so I don't see any problem using it in reversible mode with 4S.
Wiring would be simple as well, black and red wires only (white not used) motors in parallel. P.S. High power brushed mode more related to less then 19t motors running at 7-10 cells. |
Or, page 9 from the manual has a pretty good diagram. The left diagram is for brushed motors with reverse, and the right diagram is for brushed high power (no reverse)...
EDIT: My post was in response to motoman's post... |
Yeah that's true, but I was just trying to show how to wire the 2 motors in parallel. In my opinion it would be a messy setup with a lot of "extra" wires, because I agree with GriffinRU about not needing the high power mode for the Titans. You could just use the reversing brushed mode and it would be cleaner.
