Jammin CRT .5 Do-Over

I remember being so excited about the new .5 when it first came out and tearing into the new "kit" and immediately converting it. It seemed so long ago. Eight months actually - and now it's time to revisit it and do it all over again. I'll post the pics and try to let them speak for themselves as much as possible - holler if you have any questions.

looks great, that body and those wheels really finish it off nice.

lincpimp 12.27.2007 02:56 PM

Sweet!!!!

Really like how the rustler wheels look, plus the body art is top notch!

Great job!

captain harlock 12.27.2007 03:39 PM

Very Nice!, what body is that?

Bye:mdr:

Hehe, nice! Im sure Mike would approve of the paintjob. He really did a good job on the conversion kit didnt he- perfectly laid out, excellent finish & quality. I do like those rims too, shame no-one makes really nice rims for my giant jumbo sized treads.

Man that looks great- the body and RCM mascot just as awesome as the build underneath. What motor is that? This may just force me to buy a .5!

BlackedOutREVO 12.27.2007 11:55 PM

Are those 30's series tires on the traxxas rims?

Looks AWESOME! I love the body! And nice layout.

Thanks for the positive feedback guys. The paint job was my 5th attempt at painting. I borrowed a nice Iwata and am still trying to learn how to handle it. I thought I would experiment with a few different techniques on the Proline Nitro Rustler body and also pay tribute to this forum in some way. I still have a lot to learn. The body isn't an exact fit as I did have to trim the top loop off the front bumper. It also looks like I'll need th trim a little more off the wheel wells to accommodate the extra wide 30 series Pro-line bowties. The folks at Impakt RC recommended them to go along with the Traxxas Jato wheels. Great suggestion on their part.:yipi:

The motor is a Feigao 8L (3072kv) running a 13T pinion on 3S. This is what I was last racing with the stock chassis and the buggy tires. The larger diameter tires should take it up a notch. I'm going to see if I can get it out for a test drive and some video today.

very nice

how did you get the 30 series tires on the traxxas wheels? i have 30 series dirt hawgs and the black crome 2.8" rims from traxxas but i can seem to get them to fit!

p.s. sorry about bringing back up an old thread.

BTW: looks great!!!!!

riceman 01.23.2008 01:33 AM

Thanks - i didn't have any problems with fit. The only tricky part was being sure the tire bead lined up on the wheel as there is no outer lip. What issues exactly are you having with the fit?

the part of the tires that goes in the bead seems not to fit in the bead itself. i guess i could take a knife to the tire! but just to trim it a little.
