Traxxas Villain EX

1 Attachment(s)
Hello,
Does anyone have experience with a brushless system for the Traxxas Villain EX. Since the boat has a brushed twin drive (see attached pic), if you go brushless do you have to convert it to a single drive? Right now I am running 14 GP3300 cells.
Thanks for any help or ideas.
Matt

It looks like you would have to. If it were possible, a single motor plate with some sort of 2-way splitter would be best. But a bigger propeller with a single drive should work well.

Yea, I have to think about this. From what I understand, the Villain hull is good for about 30 to 35 mph but after that it becomes unstable. I could put two 550 size Trinity motors in it (around a 12 turn) and upgrade the ESC and I think I would be at the limit of what the boat can handle. I just hate the maintenance of a brushed motor.
Thanks,
Matt
