Neu motor questions
 
Could some one explain the numbers and letters that distinguish the Neu motors from one another

for example:

1515 1.5/D vs. 1515 1y/F as well as the difference between the 1515, 1521,
and the 1512.

I would assume the 1521 are the most powerful then 1515...etc...

Example: 1512 2.5y
15 = a number that can be used to differentiate the relative diameter. Not sure if the actual number means anything, like some unit of measurement. The higher the number, the larger in diameter.
12 = a number that can be used to denote the relative length. Not sure if the actual number means anything, like some unit of measurement. The larger the number, the longer it is.
2.5 = the number of turns.
y = Delta (d) or Wye (y) motor coil formation. Delta is also called triangle, and wye is also called asterisk.

D means that it is delta wound.... and Y means that it is wye wound. The numbers either have something to do with the diameter or the length of the motor... can't remember which exactly.

The numbers relate to the size of the rotor.

Thanks for replying everyone..I will be looking for a motor for my mbx-5 in a month or so,and I will be running a 4s li-po. ( any suggestions as to which NEU I should get?)

I will not be using the motor until I get a new MGM esc in the early summer..as everyone knows the GOOD STUFF AIN'T CHEAP!!!

It shows some pics and a video of my CRT. I am using a 1515 1.5D/F with a MGM22418 controller and 5S 5000 flightpower batteries. A lot of the guys on here would probably recommend a 1515 2.5D/F with my setup (I have that motor but it is in one of my heavier emaxxs)...but I don't race so for me this setup works fine. The 1515 1Y/F might be good for you....sort of middle of the road as far as KV goes...

I looked at your pics of your 18t.. NICE A couple of friends of mine run the same all w/mamba setup in his basement...(he has an enormous house w/ a 75' straightaway ) we use the 2s li-po w/5400kv set up. It 's a blast w/ 4 cars screaming around the cellar...As i I am sure that you have found as we have that those cars are almost bullet proof

75' straight aways in the basement! Wahoo! I really liked mine but they are gone now....sold them off to fund 1/8 scale BL projects.:intello:
