out runner

I tried not to make a thread about this and read basically everything I could find in the search engine:neutral:

How do you choose a out runner for said project, I have no clue how to tell the torque of a out runner.. I would like to follow in the foot steps of sikes and build a direct to diff emaxx, what im dealing with is 11/45 diffs and the chassis will be built around the motor. So basically the size of the motor doesn't really matter, what im planning on is to run with 6S with the possibility of running 8S/10S.

thanks guys for any help you can provide.

You can use the Motor Selector, it helps you to choose a motor with the right kv. Then you have to know how heavy your vehicle will approximately be to choose a motor with the right weight.

You may consider the speeds you are going for will be a key factor in project.

yea I was looking for about 50MPH, im still messing with the math and if the out runner needs gear reduction?? im guessing it does need it:( Seems kind of like this is a little bit of unchartered territory?

Size and weight will be a large factor of a direct to diff outrunner project. Let me know the intended tire size, vehicle length/weight and prefered cell count and I will attempt to make a suggestion. Any other info will be useful too.

Thanks man! what im thinking of (estimated on the heavy side) is about 12 pounds/wheels are about 5.5 and I wanted to run it on 6S. The KV raiting I get is I think 350 something KV, but after reading sikes thread (if im not mistaken his motor is 300 KV) he is still having cogging with the lower KV. Im kind of just watching threads to see what combo's work.
