E revo w/ 5S 4000 maxamps 15C
OK,, I was disappointed with my 4S 15C performance of my e revo so i said hell with it and went with 5S. I have 2 2S 4000 along w/ 2 3S 4000 so I just got some shrink wrap and made 2 5S 4000. here is the set up
Nememsisi 7xl stock gearing w/ stock dual servos for steering stock futaba brake servo, enough torque to stop the car on a dime from full throttle MM esc w/ CC bec maxamps 2S and 3S in series to make 1 5S 4000 15C's ran for about 20 min, and only put back about 2500mah. I dont have a fan on my MM esc and I barely felt any heat on the esc and the motor. I couldnt really feel any heat until about 5 sec. later. guess thats good. It still doesnt do any wheelies, not even close and its pretty fast but not uncontrollable fast. I only ran it once so I have to wait and see. thanks. Can the MM handle the 5S? |
Your batteries will only supply ~60 amps continuous and thats probably why your not getting any wheelies. Was the battery hot when you were done?

I have run my MM's up to 5s before, but its close to the ragged edge. I agree with poster above, the batteries are probably not giving enough to make insane power. I have run a 7XL on 5s that would flip backwards with a center diff, 4s was impressive as well. You need better batteries before diagnosing the problem. What's you're gearing

so, running MM w/ 5S is good? cuz, i ran the hell out of it and it never gets hot, just warm to the touch. so does this mean its ok? Im gonna get some Hyperion 5S 4800 and try it out. it has 20C rating and its cheap. $140 what you think?

If you are ot having issues with the 5s setup stick with it. The electronics will run cooler on higher voltage too. 140 is a decent deal for that lipo.
