MM Cogging Help
 

Any hints on settings to avoid cogging?

Setup is 3S/4S MM with Feigao 9XL in my Mugen Truggy.

Reverse Enabled
60% Brake and reverse
0% Drag
30% Start Power
Low Timing


I'm getting some cogging on inital startup - It seemed more pronounced on 4s then 3s.

I'm slightly nervous as I incinerated the last MM and had to spend $50 on a replacement - I'm not sure if it was the cogging that did it...

What battery? You probably need more start power.

Batteries are great 4s 5000 25c ender's or 3s 8400 maxamps...

Should I get rid of start power limiting? I thought that would help... Oops

Ok, raise the start power to medium and see if that helps. What gearing are you using. On 3s in a truggy you will get maybe 30 mph, 25mph would be safer, but the gearing will be super high, thus very hard on the motor and esc on startup. 4s is better, but 5s would be ideal, however the mm may not like 5s. I would gear for about 35mph on 4s and then play with the start power. Also check your motor to esc connection, and hardwire if possible. If you are using 4mm connectors, they may be the source of the cogging. Use 5mm or larger connectors, or just hardwire. It cures alot of problems when you hardwire, plus it is one less area to be concerned with.
