Which would be better to use an a Reggy (revo electric truggy) which is about 8.5 lbs with batteries installed. batteries are 2 2s 3800 limn packs in series. motor will be a lehner basic 2400xl. i use it because it pulls 55a amps only and is super light (i need it light because the motor will be mounted above the center diff, because of the dual batt packs, and trying to get even weight distribution.)

who wins? im looking for smoothness, no cogging, and service, and which will puff the least, and have the least heat issues. what do you guys think?

I would take a Kontronik Jazz 70 Car, it has more car specific programming features than the normal Jazz controllers. Kontronik says it is only good up to 3s Lipo but i was using mine on 5s LiFepo (16V) for more than one year (with built-in BEC!) without problems. This is working because it is using exactly the same hardware as the Jazz 80-6-18, only the software is different. It didn't show any signs of cooging, never got hotter than 130f and when i short-cirquited the built-in BEC, i got a new controller for free. As a second choice, i would take the Quark 65a.

You are running 4s correct? Why not use the Mamba Max? Out of your selection I own a 9920 and a quark 65. I use both on 5s, and they work fine. The quark is the smoothest, but does seem to heat up more than the bk. The bk has not adjustability or lvc, but seems robust and is very cost effective.

if i use a fan on the quark will it work well?

I have a feeling that the quark 80 would be a better choice for your setup. The 65 is a good controller, but more for 10th scale, lighter vehicles. You may be suprised that you lehner will pull more than 55 amps in a larger vehicle, depending on gearing. Why not use the mm?

Yea, the XL will heat them up REAL fast...I'd say nothing rated below 80 amps...

How about the mgm 8012 or 8016?
