Wing?

I was looking to mount a wing on my E-maxx. I know Dace Mfg. has a shock tower for it but is there any other way to mount one? If so how and with what wing and mount?

Thanks

What wing and mount did you use? Any closer pics? I'd like to see the design.

Shadow350Z 08.03.2005 07:46 PM

its a proline wing and Ofna wing mount the extenders are made by me
sorry no close pics for now since i jus took it apart and now building a new one hopefully the "final" version
I'm getting tired of cutting sheet metal with a dremel

May i ask what is the point of a wing on a monster truck?

Shadow350Z 08.03.2005 08:18 PM

the wing makes it a whole new truck
it handles different
more agile
and it feels like its glued to the ground

I understand, i always thought it looked strange but now i know there is an actual purpose to having one, thanks shadow.

Plus you have a handle to carry your truck. LOL!!!

Shadow350Z 08.03.2005 09:06 PM

My Maxx feels so different now with the wing
I dont think i can drive my maxx w/out a wing now
well maybe for climbing and stuff

All my trucks have wings. I think they make the truck fly better in the air. And help proyect the truck when you flip over.

Shadow350Z 08.03.2005 09:32 PM

ehh for climbing im thinking of using Imex JumboMaxx claw dawgs and jumbomaxx diamonds and a proline h2 SUV body
so wing aint gona look good with a SUV

A wing can definately help out w/ additional downforce on the truck. You'll lose a little top speed but gain traction on the wheels where your wing is placed.

How much downfoce depends on the surface area of the wing, the grade at which it sets, and your speed.

The grade is extremely important however, if its neutral or has a "positive" lift you'll get the opposite effect, at speed. This would be a bad thing.

Decided to find a linky. This one looks pretty good, and not overly technical -> http://www.mustangsandmore.com/ubb/D...dynamics2.html
