Thinking of converting....
Well I have a Savage that has sat for over 2 years now because of the engine being shot. Go figure.. a nitro engine shot!?!?!?!? HAHAHAHAH
So my question is what's the cheap route to get it converted to brushless? The Savage already has the extended chassis. I was looking/reading about the Great Plains Ammo motors... 1800 or 2600 from Tower. Probably would try to use the Mamba max. I see that FLM has a cheaper solution to converting the Savage to brushless but it's no where to be found. And now I don't see it or find it on their site.. all I see is the $185 converstion kit.... The Savage also has upgraded spyder diffs, hd dog bones etc. THanks |
the cheap way to convert is the kershaw designs
http://www.kershawdesigns.com/ Bad thing is the motor is mounted kind of high, and the batteries are mounted on the outside. If you run the stock transmission, you can use the mechanical brakes. I dont think FLM is going to sell the "cheap" version. I think they were referring to it because it was their test in progress. Not sure though. Here is some info on the ammo: http://www.rc-monster.com/forum/show...highlight=ammo Also definitely use these calculators: http://www.scriptasylum.com/rc_speed/index.html they will help show you what you need for what you want. and look at these post, many have converted their savage. Seems the Fieago series is good. Like 8XL, 9XL depending on what batteries you are running http://www.rc-monster.com/proddetail...WAND_XL&cat=20 Also, dont just read this, but memorize it (Serum's Common information about setups etc.): http://www.rc-monster.com/forum/showthread.php?t=5115 |
Thanks Legobrains;
And welcome to RC-Monster generalG. |
Cool site for BL stuff for sure.
Well I just unloaded my Axial AX10 so I think I should buy the FLM BL conversion now and put that Savage to use again! |
