spektrum Dx3R binding problem

Is any one having problems binding their dx3r spektrum radio to the Sr3100 receiver? I put the bind plug in the bind /battery slot....powered up the receiver and all i get is a solid red light....It is suppost to flash continuously but it dont
the light just stays solid....i got it to bind to my older receiver with just push button binding .....hmmmm i am going to call horizon tomorrow.
i bet i got a bad receiver...Damn it!

You are probably one of the first here to get the 3r. How do you like it so far besides the binding issue?

my dx3.0 and dx6 were pre-bound from the factory - i just pulled it out of the box, plugged it all in and it worked. is that not the case with the 3r?

well i sent my receiver off to horizon today...so thats cool.
Clod maxx, my dx3r and dx2 radios didnt come factory bound, that would be cool if they did
then they would have found the receiver problem..

Mtbiker tim, so far i really like the dx3r, it feels very good and is really responsive.
Also it has all the the options other good radios have and then some....I'm really happy plus i got 40 dollars off from amainhobbies.com and free shipping!

Good to here Horizon are fixing it. Their service seems good as I had a similar problem in that both my receivers on my dx3 dodgy. They worked but not at close range.

now that i think about it, i'm not sure that my dx3.0 came factory-bound. i think i had to bind it manually. my dx6 that i just got a couple months ago was factory bound, though.

let us know how the service goes - i've heard they (horizon hobby) will fix just about anything free of charge, no matter how long you've had the spektrum system. you just have to send your system to them, which can be a pain if it's a small part you need fixed or replaced.

Not your problem but I had a different one I thought I would share.

I had a problem with binding my DX3R rx in that I could get it to bind but once I turned it off and back on the bind was lost. Turns out I powering the rx with a castle creations regulator and the ground and signal must be shorted in the reg for some reason (probably grounding of some sort). So I removed the signal wire from the regulator and bam binded and kept working.

Just my experience...

This is a known bug by castle with the V1 ubecs - the fix is to either remove

- the signal wire from UBEC
- use a diffent slot than battery in rx either with a Y or just channel 3

Something to do with the RX and UBEC getting confused over the signal channel getting mixed up with the castle link...

This is being fixed in UBECs made from late nov but no way of telling which version you have... It was a hardware change...

I just got my new replacement receiver from Horizon, and it works perfectly!
I am very pleased with their service... The new DX3r is very cool!

Got a DX3R week ago. No binding problem at all. However on sunday on our 1/18 indoor track reciever stopped responding. After few minutes I found out that in just unbound. After rebinding everything worked whole day. Strange. Hope it does not happen again.

Anyway DX3R is a great radio. It is more responsive and smoother than my old Futaba 3PM 2.4Ghz. Few people that tried the radio did confirm it.

I still need to try the 5.5ms response time with my MGMs but dont think it can get any better :)
