spring question

I am about 85% done building my e-revo and thought I was good with springs. as a roller it sat so high I was worried that it would be too stiff. After installing my neu 1515 and adding a 400g weight to the battery tray to simulate close to rtr weight it almost bottoms out just sitting on the floor, even with the collars tightened all the way down.

I have the teflon coated GTR's, 60wt in rear, 50wt in front, white springs on front and green on the rear.

I do not want to spend a fortune on springs trying to figure this out. What are some of your guys recommendations for a high speed high flying basher?

I forgot to add, I am thing about moving the greens to the front and getting gold or tans for the rear. would this be adequate?

I had the same problem when I built my e-revo also. I was using like the gold and tan springs (I think) which was ok.

I found that the revo springs all seemed to be like 1/4 - 5/16 short and required screwing the preload down 25% - 50% just to remove any play. I don't know if this normal or not but I found it annoying so I ended up using some firm and X firm springs from a set of powerstrokes. The springs are just long enough to fit snug with no preload required and are working good for bashing.

You may find that you'll want to run a little heavier rear then whatever the recommended setup is since you weight is carried a bit more on that end.

Yes that would be much closer but if you plan on hitting larger jumps you'll likely want something heavier then the green up front. It will really depend on how/where your going to be running the truck.
