Brushless Blizzard Anyone
Anybody run a brushless Blizzard? The 2 feet of snow outside is making me want to get the blizzard out. How do the mamba's hold up in the water? I have a brushed 19t with a mtronik esc in it now.

The 1/18 Mamba is 100% waterproof. The Mamba Max is not said to be waterproof, but I ran my Revo with it in the snow, and it did great. It had snow all over it, and it still works fine.

anyone know if the sidewinder is waterproof?
|
Sidewinder is conformal coated just like the others, but the case cannot be made watertight easily like the MM.
I have a blizzard with dual outrunners in there. It is quite fun. I got rid of the old driveline and put two 2215 outrunners on GD-600's. It is perfect on 3s lipo. Now that the m25 has been updated I bet it will start up better in a bind too. We haven't had much snow this season. |
Any chance of a few pics of the blizzard JRH? Sounds like fun!

3 Attachment(s)
I should have some old ones I can dig up real fast..

I have the newer blizzard with a single 540 size motor and steering brakes
|
Mine used to be like that too. I hated the cutting brake steering. Now I can skid steer. I even made a mix to make the rig drive like a normal RC, but pushing left or right with no throttle made it spin. It was super easy to drive that way, instead of tank method.

Nice body what it from?
|
ebay something or other I think.

I like the Blizzard JRH. The outrunners with the gear reduction looks cool, and I am sure that it works well. What ratio reduction are you using?

If anyones interested, this is some video I shot yesterday of my brushless ArtAttack snowmobile. I just finished building it this past week. It definitely doesn't like fluffy snow like in the vid, works well on harder packed stuff. Anyways, I threw my older 1/8 buggy electronics in it for fun, a Quark 125B, Feigao 9L, and Maxamps 4S 5000's. I think I need to gear up some more, but it's a nice combination of speed and controllability right now. It's a blast to drive.

The little gearboxes are 3.5:1 I think, and with the outrunner "reduction" it turns out almost exactly like stock speed. I might put some scorpion outrunners in there next, it would give better torque. Maybe a slow one on 4s lipo. |
