Pics of e Revo... need some with RCMonsters motor mount
 

For those of you that have done a conversion using RCMonster's motor mount, I'd like to see pics of the setup. I just want to check out the layout of the pieces and where everyone has mounted the receiver.

Apparently I'm stupid and can't make the pieces for RC-M's motor mount fit together.

Also, has most everyone removed one of the steering servo's? I was just going to keep them both unless it makes it difficult to mount the receiver.

I am sure that you are not stupid!

The mount base bolts to the moveable nitro motor mount. The square hole clears a part of that mount. The font plate that the motor bolts to mounts with three hex screws (use threadlocker!) and the sliding motor support mounts with 2 srews. Leave the rear support loose until you get everything lined up and the gear mesh set. Hope this helps, I do not have a pic handy, someone here will!

I don't have a picture of the actual motor mount, but here is a picture of the general layout of my E-Revo. The white thing is the external BEC, and under it is the Tekno Receiver box with receiver inside. At the moment, one servo (Hitec HS-5955TG) is working perfectly for me.

Look at my last pic. There are two holes in the bracket but only one hole to put the screw in so it can slide. Did I misunderstand something?

Sorry for the crappy pics. The piece in the rear that you mention only has 1 hole to hold it down. Am I mounting it incorrectly?

No disrespect but is the motor crooked? It doesn't look perpendicular to the motor plate.... like I said, no disrespect, just wondering. Also, is anyone running both steering servos?

I don't know where to mount the receiver if I keep both servos.

Okay, I looked at it again.... I guess I will do the single servo conversion. I'll look it up and see what it takes.

So back to the rear mount, should I have some screws in the 2 holes?

It's safe to assume that the kit comes with 2 rear mounts? (different size motors?)

Ah, you have the newer style mount. The rear support will be ok with 1 screw, if that is all that will fit. I am sure the other hole is there for some reason, maybe Mike can clue us in!

orangecrush - I didn't even notice that, but you are right, in the picture the motor does look crooked. However, in reality it is straight. :smile: If you still want to run 2 servos, you can mount the receiver where my brake servo is. This is how it used to be before I installed the manual brakes. I just made a small tray out of sheet metal and it worked great.

If you wanted to stay with dual servos, you could drop your RX where I have my ESC, since you have a Tekno mount for the ESC. See where the Mamba Max ESC is sitting? You picked up a Tekno radio box yesterday though right? I believe you have to use one servo with it unless you relocate it to a different spot on the chassis. Here's a picture of my layout.

don't want to jump in the form but am also having trouble with the one steering servo and want to Know which servo is good for the one steering servo setup. currently have a traxxas 2055 not working

Not sure how much you've read but the stock steering servo is rated at 80 oz/inch at 4.8 volts.

Point is, if you're swapping one out for two servos, you'll need a steering servo able to have 160 oz/inch torque.

Hi tec seems to be the servo of choice but I've read many recommendations of other servos capable of pulling the same torque.

I'm going to the LHS today and picking one up myself. I'll see what they have when I get there.

I run a single jr 9000t servo in my revo. I have my cc bec set on 6.5v and the servo has tons of power and is also very quick. It has no issues turning the wheels at standstill or during hard barking. A very good servo, and much quieter than the hitec digital servos. I have a 5997 hitec in my tmaxx and it works well, but is noisy. My other revo has a hitec 645mg and that works fine as well, and is much cheaper too. I also have the jr 8000 series, 400 oz/in, for my savage build. I have been impressed with the jr servos so far, we will see how this does.

I have a single 645mg in my e-revo. It works ok, but a touch more torque would be nice. I was running two 645's for a while, and it worked very very well, but I wanted to go to one serve. At some point I will upgrade to something stouter.
