Jammin' conversion - new year resolution
Hi,
About a year ago, I posted in the brushless sub forum that I wanted to do a HV (8S) Jammin' conversion with custom chassis etc. Well, a year has gone by & I'm getting nowhere . I could not find anyone who can spare the time to do the custom machining for me. While this dream has not been set aside, I decided that I need a new new year resolution . I'm still going for a Jammin' conversion but just not that custom . My new intended conversion : 1) Just confirmed to purchase a Jammin' conversion kit from Dan of rcproductdesigns 2) Confirmed with GriffinRu to have him build a doubledecker MM for me 3) I will use a Neu 1512 2D 2600KV motor - Mike is out of stock for this item, anyone knows where I can purchase one ? 4) I am thinking of using the new polyquest 4S 6000mah lipo with dimensions of 168 x 48.5 x 43.5 mm / 6.61 x 1.91 x 1.71 in. Any idea whether this will fit Dan's custom battery tray ? Well, I think that's it for now. My target is to be able to achieve 1/2hr run time for 1 charge with top speed of low 40'smph without killing the motor or esc or battery . Actually, anything above 35mph is considered pretty fast already. My current stable conversion has a top speed of 36mph using 5S 9XL and a BK12020. Scary watching it go down the straight. I think 90% of my fellow nitro buggy friends cannot keep up. Only 1 with a RB C6 is subjectively faster. Regards, Joe Ling |
How much does GriffinRu charge for the modified MM? Are the voltage specs increased or the current specs? How long does it take him to get it to you?

MMM will drop in this weekend for some torture test pending weather http://i198.photobucket.com/albums/a...39/rough01.jpg http://i198.photobucket.com/albums/a...39/rough02.jpg These were taken 24hrs ago. Pretty scary. Our world is changing. We never get this sort of weather. Luckily no one was hurt. Regards, Joe Ling |

hows it running? what happened to your double deckered Mamba Max?
looks great, hopefully ill do just as good of a job with mine... |
Nice! i like it a lot so far.
yes, the world IS changing Joeling. the extremes in weather make new records every year.. In our land it translates in more intense rainfalls, the summers get hotter every year too. |
Hi guys,
Thanks for the compliments. I have run it lightly in the street at the front of my house earlier today for about 5 to 6 minutes & everything seemed ok so far. The real test will be tomorrow at the bashing track. The double deck is still alive although I managed to damage the plastic case. It needs 2 fans to keep its temperature under control. Unfortunately, the 25mm fan that I put on top of the heatsink keep dying for some mysterious reason. When that fan was not working, temps soared to 60 deg C under hard running. Too high for my comfort. Unfortunately, weather plays a part in my line of business. We are maintenance & minor Hookup commissioning contractor to the oil majors in Malaysia & most of the action is offshore. Bad weather is bad for business... Regards, Joe Ling PS : BTW the weight of the whole kit is close to 3.9kg. Is this too heavy ? How does it compare to a typical Jammin' conversion ? |
