Maxx Transmission problems...
 

When I put on throttle it makes a high pitch noise, like the teeth in the gears (not the pinion/spur) are not touching properly.

When I change gear, it changes but sometimes doesn't and I get a loud wooshing noise because the gears arn't meeting or the same high pitch squeel.

I've opened the transmission up and all the gears are in tact, no bad teeth at all. They all meet.

The only problem I can see is that the gear changing slider isn't changing the gears fully and it only goes some of the way, yet I have fiddled with it for hours and it doesn't fix my problem.

I'm really confused because I have re-built the transmission properly several times now and can't understand why the gears arn't working properly and I have hardly any power to the wheels.

The gear changing server pushes the bar all the way in and pulls it out all the way too, so it can't be that either...

Make sure that the bottom gears are no in backards. You did put the two little shims back on the output shaft. Make sure that the slider has no burrs on it. If you just installed some new steel idlers. They make sound until the set in some times. When put together does the tranny spin freely. Check some of the bearing as well. Not sure what else to tell you to try.

It was put together perfectly I'm sure. :(

I really can't see what is wrong, only the gear changer could be the problem but I wouldn't know how to make it more effective at gripping the gears better.

checked my tranny and everything is okay i think its jus normal

Perhaps you have the spur and pinion mesh too tight. I find when I really crank the spur into the pinion and lock it down the noise level increases significantly. Backing it off a mm usually lessens the noise...and probably makes for better gear life.

Are you seeing incorrect wear on any of your gears (spur, pinion, idler, etc.)?

Your shift servo is not pushing or pulling it to far one way. I melted a shift fork like that.

Try re-adjusting the springs on the shifter linkage. Make it thighter.
You probably already thit this, right?

If you use the stock TQ3 radio, the transmitter has a small potentiometer on the backside to adjust 3rd channel travel.

The servo horn on the shifting servo might be in the wrong place, and so it doesn't engage 1st/2nd gear properly. Either take it off and move it slightly or adjust it on the transmitter (see manual as to how).

Experiment with moving the servo by hand and you should find where the gear change happens, and from that yo should be able to adjust the servo horn accordingly.

I fixed it. :)

The slipper was too loose, so when large amounts of power (such as first gear) or high speeds (such as 2nd gear) it just spins on the spot not taking the power to the tranny'.

Tightened it and fogot how mean my Maxx is. :D

I have a problem with first, where I can't do wheelies because of too much power, the wheels just powerslide and get no grip, not sure how to solve this?

What tires you running?

Depend's on the survice you running on. Did it wheely before with your current set-up?

I would say it wheeled better but I can feel alot more punch and speed this time and I prefer that.

Will be running on grass and rough tarmac.

what kind of set-up are you running?
