Savage steering increase?

So. I was busy setting up end points and steering dual rates and all of that fun stuff last night and I never really paid attention to it in the past but I was somewhat less than impressed with the amount of steering travel the wheels have from lock to lock on the Savage. I was tempted to start dremeling the hub carriers and c-blocks and all to get some more travel but decided I would wait and see if I could find any info on doing this mod that sombody else has already proven to be effective and still keep things strong enough.

I did some searching but havent really found anything out there

So my question is has anyone done this? or know of someone who has posted something on how to do this. I know I cant be the first person to want more steering travel on a Savage.

Not experienced with Savage, but adding steering in the rear as well will really improve steering.

I'll find some links for you. There are alloy blocks from HPI which improve the steering travel a lot as well.

Here is a guide for dremelint the plastic. There are other guides on that site that are possibly better then this one.

Here is a bit of a review of the HPI alloy suspension/steering kit

Thanks. I'd be greatful for whatever you can find. I didnt turn up anything very usefull in my searches yet.

I would be interested to see the alu blocks, but not sure I want to add more metal than I need to add. If I can dremel plastic in the right way to achieve the same result I am likely to go that route as long as it doesnt weaken things to badly. I've spent enough on this basher at this point and dont really want to spend any more on it. At least until I get to run it and identify what it really needs. Any links showing mods that others have done would be great.
