motor question?

would this be a descent motor for a E-maxx 5 cell a123 and a mm?

I'm looking for cheap torque with some descent revs.

Any advise is greatly appreciated.

I have run the align 600 l and xl and they are similar style to what you are looking at. I am sure that on 5s a123 it will work ok. I would gear for around 35mph with this setup.

thanks, would this have enough wheelie punch?

lincpimp 02.02.2008 02:45 AM

2000kv on the equivalent of 4s lipo should be good for a few wheelies! To be honest I would like to see a 2000kv motor run 5s lipo, but this is a hybrid motor so it will most likely have more torque than a 2 pole inrunner (feigao).

So I am sure that it can handle the emaxx, just gear conservatively and keep checking your temps during testing.

will this pull rolling wheelies like a feigao?

lincpimp 02.02.2008 02:52 AM

To be honest I have no idea.

1986camaro 02.02.2008 02:55 AM

would a feigao be better?

lincpimp 02.02.2008 02:58 AM

An 8xl is a good motor, and proven to work well. I assume you will use a mm?

1986camaro 02.02.2008 03:00 AM

yes as i says on the first post.

Not paying attention, too much tequila!

Not much testing has been done on the hybid motors so far. If you want to blaze some trails buy one and tell us how it works!

If not buy an 8xl.

do you think it would be worth it to try it out?

lincpimp 02.02.2008 03:20 AM

That is up to you. Given the case length at 54mm it may be too short to make the torque and handle the load of the emaxx. What speeds were you looking to get?

1986camaro 02.02.2008 03:26 AM

around 35 mph with something smooth and light and hopefully not have to worry about cogging. i mainly just putt around and hope that this would be stronger than a mm7700 which is what i am using now. i just hope that it would have some nice grunt but not insane speeds.
