Clodbuster Stick Crawler Build
Here is my clod stick. It's been built for about 2 months now. Figure I would put here.
I devised some homemade links, all- thread wrapped in carbon fiber tube then aluminum tube over that with some plastic ends. Chassis started off with 1/2" aluminum tube from hardware store and some furniture screw things. Jammed those into the 17" long tube. 1/2" bolt connects to TCS heim joint . I got some other goodies from TCS as well. Got the idea for the mounting shocks, well hose clamp, from Xerox Project (RCCrawler Board). L-brackets from hardware store.I know the stick has been done before but this was my first build. Integy Aluminum Spools in both clod axles. Imex K-Rocks cut up on Maximizer beadlocks. Took me forever to first cut then grind off the tread. They will need weight. mgConsiderably light. Moabs on Aluminum Beadlocks (Don't know the brand but these things have some weight to them) Aluminum Knuckles (Don't know the brand) Two different rate springs on shocks and plastic limiters on shafts. Integy 55t brushed motors paired with 8t pinions in the gearboxes. Airtronics 94361 servos (rear locked now, also have punkrc 4ws board) Stock Traxxas TC3 Radio Gear Novak Super Duty ESC Four AA's battery pack on rear axle for servos Rubicon Jeep body. http://img488.imageshack.us/img488/8...3653lf1.th.jpghttp://img217.imageshack.us/img217/2...3660wj0.th.jpg http://img246.imageshack.us/img246/6...0411jf0.th.jpghttp://img267.imageshack.us/img267/6...0409de5.th.jpg |
My only suggestion is to get some higher quality batteries, but other than that, it looks great. Nice job!!
