need brushless setup
hello there
I have e-maxx with novak 4.5 but it run hot with 12 & 72 its give me about 43-47 mph now I look for better setup from here that run with 16 or 18 cell cooler and faster than my novak 4.5 :) I would like to hit 50-55 mph I know I have to buy MGM but I dont know which motor i have to buy ofcourse not look for neu motors because I need cheap motor like fiago and dont know what I need else dont warry my maxx will handle 50-55 mph :) |
Running a feigao cool on 50-55mph is a tall order, but it could be done with a high voltage setup. Something like a 1500kv motor on 6s or 18 cells would run a fair bit cooler than a 2000kv motor on 4s or 14 cells. I would suggest you need:
MGM 120/18 or 160/18 RCM motor clamp/heatsink 5mm bore 32pitch pinions 5.5mm gold connectors (3 male, 3 female). That should be all you need- gearing info in BrianG's signature. |
hey suicideneil you all the time help me thanks bro
you forget what motor for me :) really I dont know what I go with. maybe the v-twin will be the winner for me |
The feigao/wanderer/nemesis 11XL is about right kv wise, otherwise you are looking at the more expensive Mega motors, or the V-twin which should work fine, but as has been said often enough- it isnt ideal for continued use, more for speed runs. If you can wait until the end of march or so the MMM will be released hopefully, and that will be a solid 4-6s (18 cells max) lipo performer. $300 for a single excellent system is better than about $300+ for an experimental one in my eyes... personal choice though.

thanks man
mike store just have 7,8,9 and 10XL SO if I go with 10XL and 18cell what you think of speed and timp ? did you think it faster and cooler than novak 4.5? |
I'd bet money on it being faster, but it all depends on gearing & how good your batteries are really as to your top speed. That said, how do these numbers grab you?

hmm my novak give me 42-47mph and 10 mins then got hot so if i go with XL10 i will get same speed but with run cooler.
I need more speed :) i can spend $400 for mgm & motor and $200 for good 18 cell so i just have $600 if you were me what you go with with this $600 |
Tough call man. I'd probably spend $300 on the MMM when its released, and spend the rest on some good batteries. The 2000kv motor the MMM will come with initially will be a blast on 4s, scream on 5s, and fly on 6s, though it may run somewhat warmer obviously. if you can wait a couple more months, I'd say that was a good route to take- just put your name down on the mailing list to findout when the MMM is ready for release and pre-order it (Joe Ford posted info somewhere, search his recent posts).
