I took a different approach by mounting it in sideways. But in the end the motor is centered in the TVP's and it doesn't sit too high. I ran it this way for the last 2 summers...

Just an update. The Savage has been fantastic. The center diff is solid and it makes the truck fun to drive. I still have cogging issues and I just added a smaller pinion to see if it helps.

The 1717 had pleanty of power. (More than the 1520) I just didn't like the powerband. It was more like an on/off switch in my Savage. It was difficult to drive. I was on my roof more than my wheels....

The Big Joes are more for show. The truck handles much better with these and they weigh 1/2 a pound less per wheel.

Ok I will try that. I have 3 set of wheels and tires and unfortunately they were all pre-glued. I may boil a set and see if I can peel them off safely...Then tape them. (I have Gorilla tape waiting)...

Thanks guys. I would not have guessed a short course motor. I figured that motor would be a high torque low rpm set-up.
