I'd go with the 12s, that way you have extra torque on hand so you can gear it up for speed runs if you want, or gear it down for extended runs, and either way it will run pretty cool. I sure hope...

If you have a motor that pulls alot of amps, cheapo stick packs will get really hot and may melt the plastic end caps. The cheapo pack's connections with the tin like Serum said just cant handle...
