However, you can't compare HP to HP when comparing electric to gas. Electric has huge torque from 0 rpm and up while gas builds up torque.

5s lipo aint' gonna get you to 60mph. Sorry, no can do. You need over 2000 watts to get to 60 mph in a maxx. 5s lipo - if you use the Kokam 3200's... won't do it - at least not w/o major voltage...

A lipo pack of around 3800 mah will have the same capacity as a NiMH at 3800. Having said that, a 2s pack at 3800 will probably last SLIGHTLY longer due to the lower weight.

Get a 6000 or 8000...

No, these speeds are not best case scenario. That's the whole point of the voltage drop from 1.2 to 1.05 per cell. As a matter of fact, see how my voltage drops from 29.6 volts to UNDER 21 volts...
