My understanding is that the only difference between the 6.5 and the older motor is the nickel plated rotor. Windings are the same.

Based on some calculations in a spread sheet I have the 380XL 8Turn motor is approximately the same as a 540s 12 turn motor. Also, you can look at the Kv and Amp draw of the two and see that.
