You'd really be surprised at how much fun a low turn motor (9XL or 10XL) can be on 4S when you get into running in a place where speed gets you nothing, like through rocks or hill climbing.

Personally, I have a bunch of motors. Different motors for different purposes.
So you're saying I should get the MM with an 8XL to begin with for racing, then add in more lower turn motors for bashing, rock climbing, etc? Will the lower turn motors solve the cogging problem I've heard about with the MM & 8XL combo at lower speeds? I assume the cogging isn't a real problem if you're racing since you hardly ever creap around. I do like the flexability, but I don't want to spend $300 on my first BL setup then smoke it in the first week. That's my biggest concern that the Novak (sensored) systems apparently avoid. I'm still a noob at this so simple is better.

Will the MM & 8XL combo accept a 14 cell set up? It's only rated at 12 in the store. I'll be on 14 cells from the beginning.
Would the Feigao 540C 8XL be a good starting candidate with the Mamba Max and Mike's motor mount?
Sorry for all the noob questions and I hope I haven't hijaked the thread. I appreciate all the help and guidence you guys dish out so freely. This place has been a wealth of knowledge for me already.
