Sounds great! (Yes, I did read the whole thing) You're a freshman now, and will be a sophomore next year? If so, it sounds like you could really improve.
I too have been a running type of guy. Went to the summer cross country camp, and had a good time. After about a month I ended up with a stress fracture in my foot that was causing pretty bad pain (happened during a run that was uphill to the top, then downhill for the rest). That was the end of running. I was hoping to get out for track, but I didn't start training ahead of time like the doctor said I should (to prevent the stress fracture), so my mom wouldn't let me run. So it was either swimming or tennis. I had been a swimmer for a while already, and was pretty good, but hated it. Tennis it was. I've played tennis all four years, and I must say, the running I had done during middle school and in the summer cross country camp really helped. Even if I'm not in the best shape of the guys on the tennis team, I put out much more effort when it comes to running. So all I have to say is, keep it up!
Let me know if this looks familiar :D.
