It should be able to. In this case, the ESC would not be the limiting factor, but the motor would be. However, I'm quite sure that the ESC is the limiting factor in the GTB setups, and therefore you would be able to run more voltage with a 7.5 motor (like 3S lipo).

However, don't hold me to it.
