What exactly? I can't see why (in theory) you couldn't run a low kv motor like a 8.5 or 10.5R on higher voltage on an HV. The only biggie I would 1st be worried about is the sensor harness, but that wiring should be the same (as std across brands and regulated by ROAR rules), or easily corrected. I know there is a thermosistor in there as well, but there would be one on both, adn I would think it wouldn't effect programming too much. Logically they would be there same part between the Hv series and velocity series if possible to avoid having to source and supply similar parts. If another brand could run the motor, why couldn't a similar controller within the same brand? Isn't there a crawler motor too? Does that run on the HV or GTB?
Somebody must have tried this before (perhaps not here b4.)
Its been a long time since I looked at the Novaks. The 3.5 has a stupid kv rating, like 10K. I know some motors have diff bearing sizes than others, so I'd pick the one w/ the larger bearings and highest turn if you want to run @ higher voltage. If just @ 7.2V, pick whatever (tho i'd be leary of the 3.5 straightoff.)
