Agreed! There will always be something special about a vintage muscle car or a serious street/strip machine. Until I owned the Mustang I scoffed at small blocks. I after all was a 440 Magnum guy (wishing for a 426 Hemi...like we all do) tearing up the asphault in my '69 Charger R/T.

The power & performance of the 5.0L Stang can't be taken lightly.....It's kind of the '80's & '90's version of the '60's 350 Camaro really.

I'll never forget halping my friend at the track one day with his SSO Mustang. Running 26x10 M/T slicks, mufflers, and a seriously bad 342" stroked 302 with a HUGE F-2 Procharger (or could have been a Vortech Mondo XX-Trin at the time). He line up against a 632" '69 Chevelle (a very nicely built car) with 14x32 slicks. He ripped off a 8.67 @ 167mph to the Chevelle's 8.89 @ 158! The Chevelle guys we're joking about how bad they'd spank the little blue Mustang as the cars staged.
:005:
Guys have pushed their Mustangs MUCH MUCH harder since then with the top players running in the 6's on 10" wide slicks and Low 6's @ 230mph+ on prostock tires.

well, enough of my rambling..........
