Yeah, the Hyper8 and hyper 7 use the same diff, so there is no reason why it won't work. However, the Hyper 8 has the diff mounted off center. Mike made the mount so it uses the same off center holes yet mounts in the center (basically the mount holes are to one side). Here are a couple of pics.
