Serum, I still don't know. I may have misspoke in my post above. I should have made it clear that getting a mislabeled motor is what I suspected. Considering that the motor was running so well, it was the only conclusion that I could come to.

When I initially called Neu about it, I asked what the possibility was that I got a mislabed motor and the guy I spoke with responded with, "it's a possibility." Their labeling process consists of the guy who built the motor marking one of the motor leads with a marker. On my motor, it was marked 1512/1.5Y in very small writing. This first labeling is what is used to make the labels for the endbell and the box. If it is mismarked after being wound, the mistake will not be caught, except by the end user.

I was under the impression that Neu had some sort of QC in place that would catch this, but apparently they don't.

In any case, it was a nice motor. On the other hand, perhaps the high temps that I was getting was due to a defective motor. I am just patiently awaiting my Neu to come back so that I can try it out. I'm still leaning toward sticking with the MM and getting a Lehner, if I can find one.
