You can run a Neu motor with a MM esc, but there is the cogging issue. Those with lighter vehicles usually have better luck. The problem gets worse as the weight of the vehicle increases.

Yeah, I have a duratrax IR meter, and when I take the measurements of shiny things it's ambient temp (something hot). Surface texture definitely affects accuracy, mosty when something is polished smooth, and metallic. Otherwise it is quite accurate indeed.
