I find the HV-Maxx Heatsink actually does a great job at keeping things cool. It is quite thick and clamps quite hard, which results in lots of positive heat transfer, as well as adding mass to the motor, which stabilizes the temperature more (harder to heat or cool more material). The fins also help with cooling, obviously.
