It's too bad that the tranny couldn't be sealed so that you can run some thin fluid in there to help with the heat.

What about venting the tranny case? Cut some holes and then glue in some metal screen (like in a screen door) to keep debris out, but get some airflow? Either that, or simply run a center diff instead of a tranny...
