I set the shocks on the furthest out position on the lower arms. Then, I set the upper shock mounts as far in as possible, at a level that allows maximum downtravel while still allowing the skids to bottom out before the shock (if the shock bottoms out before the sklids touch the ground, this will bend shock shafts and put a lot of stress on the bulks/towers etc.).
