The electric clutch felt just like I was driving a nitro. Its rather smooth really but quite loud I must say. Between the metal gears and the clutch shoes grabbing the bell, it was scratch/clang city with a spark every now and then. Thats what you get with poorly centered gears...

I would say that the speed off the line is most effected by the clutch but once the vehicle reaches a "coast" speed, take off power is right there when needed. With the clutch springs removed, the startup speed was still faster than the nitro's.

It was a fun project but I like direct drive transmissions better.
