I was modifying the motor shaft, and got both ends turned down to 5mm, and the groove for the snap ring cut, using a combination of my drill press, Dremel with reinforced cutoff wheel, and file. However, I wasn't able to drill the holes the pins will go through. One hole is now about 1mm deep, but then my drill bit broke... This steel is very tough. Time to order a new drill but, and hope for better luck next time.
