That's the first thing I thought of when I saw that. Folks are still treating BL motors as if they are brushed motors. I run 5S, so I'd be out. No mention of KV limits, which have just as big of an impact. If they want to put some limits that really mean something, they should do it on a watt basis, which would allow for a lot more lattitude, but still keep everyone to the same power level. Aim for a 1,500w limit and call it good.

Also, what's up with limiting to LiPo only? What about folks who want to (shudder) run NiMH, or A123's? I'd want to run A123's on mine (albeit 6S) to trim my weight down some for racing.

I can say that it is a start. That's the hardest part. The rules will precipitate discussions (like these) which will hopefully move them in a positive direction.
