Okay Camel, this is easy. Do you know the Final Gear Ratio of your driveline? If no, just count the teeth. Don't forget the diff.
When you have the FGR, measure the circumfence of the tires.
Then calculate the rpms of your motor at full throttle. That's the KV rating (rpm per volt) times the voltage of your batts.
And then do the calculation. Aim for 30 to 35 mph with the teeth number on the pinion as X in the equation.
Sounds complicated, but it isn't. I guess you already did this anyway.
Check the temps. Don't let them exceed 180 degrees Farenheit. If your motor is under 180 after a full run, you are fine.
Also, make sure the MGM is properly set up. I heard the MGM's have alot of parameters.
If you have a bit of experience with a certain combo, you kinda feel and hear if it's properly geared. It's not good if the motor revs up to easy. And you also feel it if it has to push too hard.
Good Luck, and let us know how you like it.
(don't forget, I'm also rather a BL newbie, but that's how I do it. Mike is the guy with the most experience here, and I think he has this motor in his Pede)
