Yeah, the MGM will run NiMH. And yes, in series. The new MGMs have a built-in switching BEC so that's ok too.

I guess I missed the fact you're running 14 cells. The new MM don't work right with anything over 12 cells or 4s. You might want to read up on posts of the new firmware because the voltage limit might have been raised. If not, then no, you can't use the MM on 14 cells.

That sucks about the stock ESC. It does seem like there are quite a few similar stories at the Traxxas forum. Hopefully just a bad batch of ESCs...
