As Metalman mentioned, the MGM controllers have a soft acceleration parameter as a default. This makes for a smoooooth takeoff and minimizes wheelies. If you want more punch, adjust this parameter first. The 8s motor has plenty of power to turn the larger tires, but you will find the truck doesn't handle nearly as well(flips etc.). Depending on where you run and the type of running you do, this may affect you "fun". I didn't like the bigger tires on my mt racer.
