To get your emaxx BL ready, I would say do the 3.3spec conversion (knuckles, turnbuckles from tmaxx 3.3 and driveshafts), then add an RCM steel idler to the tranny; that should be fine for all but the most overpowered setups *nods to Sike*.
Shouldnt cost you more than about $50 or so, then just add your choice of BL setup, but the MMM seems like being the best value given how smooth the new software/firmwire is, bundled together with a Neu designed motor.
