No you normally can't.
What I said isn't too complicated. Basically the radio needs adjustable throttle curves, channel mixing and the one that i'm not sure if car radios have is switchable throttle curves (ie. 2 different curves you can switch between while driving, idle up switch on heli radio).
I ride a 2003 Giant AC1. It doesn't get out much these days though. I spend most of my time riding on the road on an old cross country bike converted for road use.
