Yeah, it is a bit off. When I make up a battery tray the batteries will be moved slightly forward, and in as far as I can to the center. I will most likely angle the tray out at the back to clear the center diff. My velcro and ziptie affair was just to make sure the motor/esc would actually work!

I will also mount the quark to a al plate and use the stock motor mount holes to screw that plate to the chassis. I will most likely use thermal epoxy to hold the esc to the plate.
